Sharp MDMS722 Portable Minidisc Player/Recorder Review
I've had this unit for around 2 years now, and it's been the best portable music device I've ever had. pFor starters MD quality is quite good, while this is a portable recorder, the quality isn't as high as would be with full size decks, but it still compares well.pBy the new standards ('03) this unit is LARGE, when I bought it, it was rather reasonable. However the scroll dial is it's best feature. Like the Apple iPod, you can easly scroll through the music on the disc. The dial also makes naming tracks much easier. pApparently this unit is no longer available. But I would highly reccomend any MiniDisc unit. With newer MP3 players available, the MD is becomming sort of outdated for a person who wants to carry around their whole music collection. I've used this unit for many live sound applications (theater shows, recording) and MiniDisc is a highly advisable format for these purposes. brAlso if you are constantly making new mixes of music, (like cheerleadrs, DJ's, etc.) the MD format allows you to re-write easly. (No need to start a CD coaster collection) brRecording quality isn't stealar, but it's not bad for a portable. Last advice, I'd stay away from the MDLP format, it's 5 hours (300 minutes) on the same size disc as the 74 minute units. (more music, same data space = more compression=lower quality)

I received this item very quickly. It's a great product but I expected a little more. It doesn't have USB so that I can't transfer files from and to my computer.
